Private Consultation for Behaviour and Sports
From help with your new puppy or adolescent to reactivity or aggressive behaviour like resource guarding, fear of strangers and severe bites. We love to help you learn new sports like scent detection, canine tracking (mantrailing), tricks, cannicross/skijorring/bikejorring and canine fitness. We can also accompany you if you are being forced to evaluate your dog for your municipality following an incident.
Private 1-on-1 Sessions
Starting with your needs, we assess your dog’s behaviour an in-home or on-site session. Our behaviour consultant will review your environment, current habits and get to know your dog so they can know what solutions will be most effective and efficient. Based on this information, we will develop a training plan centered around mental stimulation through fun training to strengthen your bond and exercises to help your dog know what to instead of the behaviour you are seeking to change.
While our training plans favour efficiency, as your dog’s behaviour changes, progress is never linear. Your dog’s learning is life-long and we want to help you every step of the way. We understand that each day brings new challenges and breakthroughs, and we’re here to support you in navigating them. Whether it’s through regular check-ins or troubleshooting specific issues, we’re committed to ensuring both you and your dog thrive. Together, we’ll make steady progress and celebrate all the little victories along the way!
Behaviour: What we can help with
- Setting you up for success with your new puppy
- Getting your adolescent dog to remember you exist
- Helping you build a bond with your new rescue
- Basic commands, recall, loose-leash walking
- Any sort of barking: on leash (reactivity), in-house at seemingly nothing (ghosts? That’s a joke, we are not mediums), at the window, at cars/people/bikes
- Fear and anxiety looking like an inability to walk outside, get in your car, seemingly cannot hear you outside, moving away from everything and being jumpy.
- Aggression: Dogs who are behaving in a so-called “aggressive” way are really telling us “I AM OVERWHELMED AND I NEED MY SPACE!”.
Aggression can look like:
- Possessive behaviour toward people, food, and even objects
- Biting, snapping or growling when you try to touch them or introduce something or someone new to their environmen
- Any seemingly unpredictable behaviour in a situation where such a reaction would be inappropriate
*If you have been contacted by your municipality to have your dog evaluated, we can help you through this process. We do not assess dogs for this process, but we can make sure you are the most prepared possible (accompanying paperwork is charged $45 a document, simply for our writing/review time).
